AUBURN — The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA is holding registration for the next session of the 2013-14 Youth Swim Lesson Program for ages 6 months and up. This eight-week session runs from March 3 to May 3. No lessons will be held April 19-25.

The YMCA offers swim lesson classes for children 6 months to 12 years old: Parent & Baby (6 months to 2 years), Tiny Tot Classes (2-5 years), Beginner and Advanced classes are offered, and Levels 1-5 for kids ages 6-12. For a complete list of days, times and description of the classes, visit www.alymca.org.

The purpose of the Y Swim Lessons Program is to develop confidence in participants and make learning new skills fun and challenging in a positive way. A child is advanced to the next level only when he or she can proficiently and safely perform the skills within his or her level. Each child is expected to learn and progress at his or her own rate, building upon previously learned skills, making each child a more complete swimmer.

Also offered are Adult Lap Swim, Family Swim, Water Aerobics and Splash Party (swim and gym) Rentals. For aquatic and other programs, stop by the Y at 62 Turner St. (next to the Androscoggin County Courthouse) in Auburn, call the YMCA at 795-4095 or visit www.alymca.org.
