EUSTIS — Voters at the annual town meeting will consider a budget of $1,037,092.88 at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at the Community Building on Main Street.

The warrant includes 22 articles, some of which increase the budget by $44,342.88 over last year, town assessor Sandra Scribner said. 

Elections will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at the Town Office, Town Clerk Kathy Fearon said.

The four candidates for a seat on the Board of Selectmen are Selectman Earl Wyman, Katie Richards, Michael Steward and Donald Plante, Fearon said. The term is for three years.

Planning Board member Scott Thatcher is unopposed for re-election.

There are three open seats on the Flagstaff Regional School Board. Nominated are Sarah Strunk for a three-year term, Jeff Brickley for a two-year term and David Richards for a one-year term, she said. The terms start in June.

At Saturday’s meeting, residents will consider whether to increase the Fire Department’s equipment reserve account from the $15,000 appropriated last year to $25,000, she said.

The Fire Department proposed budget remains the same as last year, $80,000, with a $10,000 decrease in insurance.

Voters will also consider an increase for the summer road budget, from $116,000 last year to $127,600 this year, she said.

The winter road budget request remains the same at $110,000, according to the warrant.

There is a proposed increase of $20,000 in the Town Office request to cover a new employee, she said.

Voters will also decide whether to authorize selectmen to use amounts from state revenue sharing, excise taxes, a TransCanada donation and other items to reduce the 2014 tax commitment by $339,123. They will also consider appropriating $275,000 from undesignated revenue to reduce the commitment.
