1928 – 2014

LOWELL, Mass. — Gladys T. St. Marie, 85, formerly of Pond Road in Lewiston, died Monday, Feb. 24, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell, Mass., following a brief illness.

She was born in Brunswick on July 27, 1928, the daughter of Paul and Marie (Veilleux) Bolduc. Prior to getting married in 1957, she co-owned and operated a coin laundromat with her friend, Garda, in the Brunswick area. She was a homemaker while her children were growing up in their farmhouse in Lisbon, where many memories were made.

After her husband passed away, she went to work for DVE Manufacturing, where she sewed her infamous “painters” hats. After her retirement in 2004, she kept herself busy going to Curves, where she was a faithful attendee, as well as making puzzles and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her Brunswick Class of 1943.

In recent months, she spent quality time with her youngest daughter and family in Massachusetts. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include two sons, Timothy St. Marie and wife, Nancy, of Mesa, Ariz., and Glenn St. Marie of Boston, Mass.; two daughters, Deborah Parent and companion, Michel Boucher, of Lewiston and Carol Viscione and husband, Tony, of Billerica, Mass.; one brother, Paul Bolduc and wife, Pat, of Lewiston; and one sister, Rita Saucier of Connecticut. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Meghan, Morghan, Abbey, Anthony, Michael, Colby, Devlin, Stephanie, Melissa and Jennifer; one great-grandson, Camren; two great-granddaughters, Samantha and Emma; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roland St. Marie, on Nov. 4, 1981; sisters, Gloria and Doris; and brothers, Leo and Harold.

“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear.”
