Kudos to the Mount Blue (RSU 9) boys and girls basketball teams. They were called a “class act” in a letter to Mount Blue’s athletic director, Todd Demmons, from Hamden’s athletic administrator, Michael Bisson, and reported in a Sun Journal story Feb. 18.
The story also told of how respectfully the teams acted during Hamden’s senior awards ceremony. The Mount Blue teams all stood and applauded each Hamden senior as they received their awards and presented their parents with roses.
When a Hamden senior attempted to score his 1,000th point, the Mount Blue boys team stood up in support and again as he received the game ball.
Bisson also wrote that he “could not be more impressed with a visiting coaching staff and players” than he was that night, and closed his letter with “Well done by the Mount Blue Cougars.”
These boys and girls have not only made their school and parents proud, but the whole RSU 9 area, and they should be proud of themselves, too, for their respectful conduct toward others.
Thanks should also go to the coaching staff, who instill that attitude in the players, along with the parents, where it all begins.
Way to go, Mount Blue Cougars. Good job. We are all very proud of you.
