PARIS — As it has done for more than 25 years, the Oxford Hills Area Clergy Association (OHACA) will host a luncheon series during Lent, starting on Friday, March 7.

For many years hosted at Deering Memorial Methodist Church, as of last year the lunches were moved to First Congregational Church in South Paris, where they will be held again this year.

According to the Rev. Don Mayberry, pastor at First Congregational Church, the luncheon series will be held on Fridays this year, a change from the past.

“We will meet Fridays at noon for soup, sandwich, beverage and cookies and at 12:30 p.m. a brief Lenten reflection will be offered by one of various members of the area clergy,” said Mayberry.

He continued, “The soup, sandwiches and cookies are being made by the Ladies Circle of First Congregational Church and are guaranteed to be delicious, but even more delightful are the people gathering from many area churches. It gives us a reason to gather to share a meal and a time of reflection.”

Dates for the series are March7, 14, 21, 28 and April 4 and 11. Cost of lunch is $6 a person, with all proceeds going to the OHACA benevolence fund, which helps those in need in the community.

The clergy of OHACA meet monthly to encourage fellowship and communications between the area churches and They work together in many ways. In addition to the luncheons OHACA is sponsor of the Good Friday Walk of the Cross that takes place this year on Friday, April 18.

First Congregational Church is located at 17 East Main St. For more information, contact Mayberry at 743-2437.
