1927 – 2014

LEWISTON — Ruthetta E. Richardson, 86, of Lewiston, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, Feb. 28, at Marshwood Rehabilitation Center.

Born on June 26, 1927, to Dalphon and Effie Brooks, she was the youngest of eight children. Educated in Oxford County, she worked at Barjo’s Restaurant in Norway and Hillcrest in Lewiston, before becoming a stay-at-home mother.

She enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, crocheting, knick-knacks, watching her daytime shows and had a love of anything green. She had a loving personality and great sense of humor. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her seven children, Thurley Doyle and husband, Rick, Ken Richardson and wife, Linda, Stanley Richardson and fiancée, Janis Stevens, Bruce Richardson and wife, Ann, Norman Richardson and wife, Pauline, Kathy Martin and husband, Derwood, and Barbara Richardson. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, Richard, Ronnie, Jenny Hazard, Erin, Airika, Chris, Laurie, Michelle, Jason, DJ, Becky, Kyle, Corey and Jenny-Ruth; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; and siblings, Ambrose, Irving, Lester, Stanley, Victor, Charles and Earl. She was also predeceased by her husband, Fordyce Richardson; and her infant son, Roger Richardson.
