will speak at the Lewiston Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, in Callahan Hall. Ledoux will talk about his latest publication, “We Were Not Spoiled: A Franco-American Memoir,” a book which he co-wrote with his mother, Lucille Verreault Ledoux.

“We Were Not Spoiled” chronicles the life of a Maine girl from 1921 through 1951. Raised in a small industrial city, Lucille Ledoux’s life is typical of many Maine Francos of her generation, and as such, is an important addition to our understanding of life in Maine’s ethnic communities in the last century.

Denis Ledoux serves as the director of The Memoir Network which is based in Lisbon Falls. Since 1988 the Network has assisted thousands of individuals start and complete memoirs.

According to Ledoux, “We are in the midst of an unprecedented explosion of memoir writing in which ordinary people claim a spot in history.”
