Twenty-one local skiers qualified for the Maine Alpine and Nordic teams Sunday.
Ten of those skiers made the state Alpine team during qualifying races held  at the EHSC High School Shootout at Black Mountain.
Elise Luce of Mt. Abram, Sarah Klein of Mountain Valley, Katherine Collette of Mountain Valley, Annalise Guerette of Winthrop and Brooke Lever of Edward Little were among 12 skiers who earned spots on the girls’ team.
Reilly Bolduc of Lewiston, Noah Lobozzo of Gray-New Gloucester, Chris Burns of Oxford Hills, Evan Mancini of Edward Little and Nick Newman of Mountain Valley were among the dozen boys who qualified.
Top-10 alpine finishers at last weekend’s Class A, B and C state championships competed in the shootout for the chance to race with the state Alpine team when it takes part in the Eastern High School Championship, which is March 7-9 at Attitash, N.H.
Eleven local skiers made the state Nordic team after selection races held a Sugarloaf. Sarah Wade of Mt. Blue, Izzy Gerencer of St. Dom’s, India Lucas of Oxford Hills and Monmouth’s Becki Bryant qualified for the girls’ team.
Qualifying for the boys’ team were: Dylan Thombs of Monmouth, Thomas Faraday of Mt. Abram, Josh Therrien of Leavitt, Dan Lesko of Mt. Blue and Gould’s Marcello Deluca, Andrew Siegel and Caleb Clarke.
The top 23 from each pursuit (freestyle) race will represent Maine at the EHSC Nordic Championships  March 14-16 in Chittenden, Vt.
