JAY — Selectpersons are scheduled to meet Monday with Town Manager Shiloh Ring LaFreniere and department heads to begin discussion on budget needs for 2014-15.

The workshop starts at 5 p.m. March 3 at the Town Office.

The meeting kicks off a timeline leading up to the annual town meeting referendum June 10.

Revised budgets are expected to go to selectpersons and Budget Committee members on March 10.

Nomination papers will be available March 17 for the Board of Selectpersons and RSU 73 Board of Directors. Tim DeMillo and Tom Goding hold the two selectperson positions that are up for election for three-year terms.

RSU 73 director positions that are up for election are those held by Shari Ouellette and Kathryn McAninch. Ouellette was appointed to fill Mary Redmond-Luce’s term after she resigned last year. That term, which will start on July 1, is for three years. McAninch was appointed to fill Clint Brooks term. That term also begins July 1 and is for two years.

Nomination papers are due April 25.

On March 24, selectpersons, town department heads and the Budget Committee will meet at 6 p.m. in the library at the Spruce Mountain High School to review and set proposed budgets for departments.

On March 25, representatives from the Jay-Niles Memorial Library and charitable and civic organizations will meet with selectpersons and the Budget Committee to review requests. That meeting will be at 6 p.m. at the high school library.

A public hearing on the town budget will be held at 6 p.m. April 29 at the high school library.

Absentee ballots will be available May 9 for the municipal budget and elections.
