OXFORD — Two cars were demolished Monday night in a rear-end collision in front of Pa’s Trading Co. on Route 26.

No one was injured, Oxford police Sgt. Rickie Jack said.

Tammy Giasson, 50, of Oxford was stopped in the northbound lane to turn left onto Ipswich Circle when a car driven by 55-year-old Charles Cannone of Manchester, N.H., slammed into the back of her sedan, he said.

“It was a severe impact,” Jack said. “They were extremely lucky.”

Giasson, her passengers, Isabella Giasson, 5, and Apryll Giasson, 6, were not hurt. Cannone complained of chest pain and was checked at the scene but did not go to a hospital, he said.

No charges were filed, the investigator said.

Cannone’s 2010 Honda and Giasson’s 2005 Hyundai were demolished.

Oxford Fire and Rescue personnel assisted at the scene of the 6:30 p.m. accident.
