1951 – 2014

PORTLAND — Robert “Bob” W. Burrows, 62, of New Gloucester, passed away at Maine Medical Center on Friday, Feb. 28, after a brief illness.

He was born in Westbrook on Aug. 27, 1951. Bob was the son of Joseph and Mary (Dunlea), and was fond of telling the story that his mom was on the way to the hospital, but he was impatient and ended up being born on the steps of the hospital. He also claimed to be Westbrook Hospital’s biggest baby EVER.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sue; his two daughters, Heather Burrows Adams of New Gloucester and Melinda Shoults of Breckenridge Hills, Mo.; his sister, Mary Lou Simpson of Fort Worth, Texas; and the loves of his life, his three granddaughters, Brittney Hutchinson, Ashley Hutchinson and Eleanor Shoults.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary (another story); and brother, Frederick; and numerous half-brothers and sisters.
