HARTFORD — Philip E. Adams, 85, a resident of Adams Road in Hartford, died peacefully on Monday, March 3, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 19, 1928, in Hartford,  the son of Merle and Cleora (DeCosta) Adams. He attended school in Hartford and the Coburn School in Waterville. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.I.I. On Oct. 5, 1947, in Lewiston he married Lucille Sanders of Leeds. She passed away Dec. 8, 2006. He worked in the woods and was owner and operator of Philip E. Adams Logging Company. He was a member of the Miramichi New Brunswick, Canada Fishing Association.

He is survived by his daughter, Marjorie Rand, and her husband, Kenneth, of Leeds; two grandchildren, Taryn Reynolds and her husband, Lee, and Carrie Rand; great-grandchildren, Hailie and Lyla Reynolds; a sister, Frances Adams of Oregon; companion, Ellen Chamberlain; and best lifetime friend, John Barto of N.H. He was predeceased by brothers, Robert and Virgil Adams; and a sister, Persis Palik.

Adams- Phillip E., 85, a resident of Hartford, died Monday, March 3, in Hartford. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls. Interment in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery in Canton.
