AUBURN — On Monday, March 10, Temple Shalom Preschool Program will begin accepting registrations for the 2014-15 school year which begins on Monday, Aug. 25. Children of all religions are welcome.

Temple Shalom Preschool is a social-based program which offers an open classroom environment that is developmentally appropriate, providing free play as well as structured activities and field trips throughout the year. Free, healthy and nutritious snacks are provided daily and early drop off is available, making it convenient for busy parents.

The morning sessions meet Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. “Flex-time” programming will allow children the option of attending two (Tuesday and Thursday), three (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) or five mornings (Monday-Friday) a week.

Also available is the Extended Hours Program available for five mornings per week (Monday through Friday). The Extended Hours Program will begin at 8 a.m. for early drop-off, and conclude at 2 p.m. each day.

While the regular program will remain the same from 9 a.m. to noon, the extended hours will allow for lunch (provided by parents), rest time, computer games, outdoor play and table games as a relaxed end to a busy day.

Inquiries and visits to the preschool are welcome and encouraged. Temple Shalom provides a beautiful facility with lovely grounds and plenty of parking. It has been a popular program for children in the greater Lewiston-Auburn area for more than 50 years.

The staff are CPR/first aid certified and members of the Maine Roads to Quality program with 30 hours of additional training each year.

Temple Shalom Preschool has a nondenominational enrollment, open to the public and is located at 74 Bradman St. (Bradman Street is off Center Street just before K-Mart and George’s Pizza).
