WATERVILLE — The Maine Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps has formed.

The Maine Regiment is an all-age drum corps, with alumni members from former corps all over Maine.

Organizers are looking for all former members of The Scarlet Cadets and Pine Tree Warriors from Lewiston and other Maine corps, including Andrews Sabers, 5th Maine Regiment and The 20th M Regiment from Oakland. It is also open to all former and current high school band members or any brass musician or percussionist past or present from any college musical organization or community band.

Open recruitment and rehearsals are being planned at several places in Maine in March. Musicians are invited to attend one of these meeting; those with their own instruments are asked to bring them to the meetings. Those without an instrument will be furnished one after joining The Maine Regiment.

The first open recruitment meeting will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at the American Legion Post 5, 21 College Ave., Waterville.

The group’s music arranger, who also assists at Lawrence High School and is a graduate of music from the University of Maine, will attend this meeting.
