NEW GLOUCESTER — State Rep. Ellie Espling, R-New Gloucester, will run for re-election in the new District 65, comprising all of New Gloucester and half of Poland.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the folks of New Gloucester, Durham and Lisbon and, indeed, all the folks of Maine,” Espling said in a news release.

“While in the Legislature, I have often brought forward solutions to everyday issues Mainers face, solutions brought to me by constituents,” she said. “I have worked on clarifying hunting regulations, removing the cap on itemized medical deductions, scrap-metal legislation and home-schooling issues, all topics brought to me by those I serve.”

During her terms in the 125th and 126th Legislature, Espling served on the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee. In the 126th, she also served on the Joint Select Committee on Rules, which makes recommendations on proposed changes to the Legislature’s joint rules.
