LEWISTON – The Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way, offers free programs throughout March.

Workshops and events are held at the CareerCenter unless otherwise noted.  Maine Veterans receive priority of service in all CareerCenter programs.

Resume Reviews, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. every Thursday. A resume expert will be on hand to review resumes.

Career Decision-Making,  March 24 and 28.

Mock Job Interviews, 3 to 5 p.m. March 11.

Resumes and Interview Skills, Part I, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 13 at the Lewiston CareerCenter, and 2 to 5 p.m. March 26 at the Auburn Public Library. To register for March 13, call 753-9005. To register for March 26, call 753-9066.

Job Search Skills, 9 to 11 a.m. March 18.

Professionals Moving Ahead! Employer panel, 9 a.m. to noon March 20. Employers will be on hand to discuss concerns about job search: ageism, references, tips on resumes, interviews, and more. These workshops are held on the first and third Thursday of each month; registration is not required.

GATEway to Employment, 2 to 4 p.m. March 20.

Maintaining Self-Confidence During the Job Search, 10 a.m. to noon, March 24 and 31, and April 7. To register, call Laurie at 753-6612.

Resumes Part II, 10 a.m. to noon March 26 at the Lewiston CareerCenter. Attendance at Resumes-Part I and a completed resume are required for attendance.

Essentials of College Planning for Adults, register by calling 1-800-281-3703. Please bring last year’s income tax forms to the appointment.

Adult Education Representative, available 10:30 to 10:45 a.m. every Wednesday.

Orientation for People with Disabilities, 1 to 2:30 p.m. March 21. Sessions are held the third Friday of the month. Service providers are also welcome to attend. Registration not required.

The CareerCenter will take part in the Androscoggin County Job Fair in April for job seekers and those interested in training for a new career in April.

CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume-writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O’Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are free of charge.
