Author Ledoux to speak at library

LEWISTON — Author Denis Ledoux will speak on his latest book, “We Were Not Spoiled: a Franco-American Memoir,” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library.

AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will meet Thursday, March 13, for supper at 6 p.m. to celebrate CWA Night. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. when guest officers fill the chairs.

La Leche League meeting is March 13

AUBURN — Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are all invited to a La Leche League meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are always welcome.

This month’s discussion, “Breastfeeding: Great Beginnings For Mother and Baby,” will focus on avoiding and overcoming difficulties.

Maine State Grange meeting in Poland

POLAND — On Saturday, March 15, Androscoggin Pomona will hold an area meeting at Excelsior Grange No. 5 on Harris Hill Road from 2 to 5 p.m.

At the area meeting speakers from the Maine State Grange including the Master (president), lecturer and the committee directors will speak to about their plans, events and programs for the coming year.

Topics will include Junior Grange, youth, community service, membership and more. All members are invited, and nonmembers are welcome to attend to learn more about what the Grange is and offers.

TURNER — MSAD 52 Adult & Community Education is offering these classes starting the week of March 17.

Community Center monthly meeting

AUBURN — The Lake Auburn Community Center will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, in the Community Room at Androscoggin Bank, 683 Minot Ave. The public is welcomed.

The LACC property is a public access point near Lake Auburn at 115 North Auburn Road with parking, restroom and picnic area. It serves access to hundreds of acres of passive recreational trail use from sunrise to sunset daily, including the Whitman Spring Road Trail owned by the Lake Auburn Watershed Protection Commission.

The winter trails have been fantastic for recreation this year and members are working out the logistics of a $14,000 project canopy grant award, including well and pump upgrades, REC (Recreation, Environment, Community) educational signage, tree nursery and forestry plan preparation and most importantly legal and survey work for public easements making this a long-term access property.

Disabled veterans meet March 18

LEWISTON — Disabled American Veterans Chapter 11 will hold its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Memorial Armory, 65 Central Ave.

The meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month, except June, July and August.

Members are invited to bring a fellow vet or family member guest.

Ladies of St. Anne membership meeting

LEWISTON — The Ladies of St. Anne Sodality of the Prince of Peace Parish, Holy Family, will have their general membership meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at the parish hall. Doors will open at 5:30.

After a short business meeting, bingo will be played. Refreshments will be served. Members are encouraged to attend and bring a friend.
