DEAR SUN SPOTS: When I was young, my father used to bring me by the old Edward Little High School on Main Street. In front of the building was an honor board of all the children who went to school there and who served in World War II.

My uncles’ names were on that board, and I would like to show my wife the board. Can Sun Spots tell me where it is today and can we see it? Thank you. — Gary M. Rousseau, mechip@megalink.net

ANSWER: Sun Spots was unable to find out anything. Perhaps having your letter appear in the column will turn up something.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In circa 1944 I went to kindergarten in Lewiston at a school I can only recall sounded like “Garcelin. Can anyone confirm the correct name of the school and where it was located? Many thanks. Was there also an Auburn Lunch restaurant at that time? — Bob, Tempe, Ariz., Bob.Tempe@hotmail.com

ANSWER: Readers, can you help?

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The hot air outlet for my clothes dryer is in a spot where I can’t reach it. If it gets clogged with snow, is there a danger for fire or to my dryer. Thank you so much for all your answers. You help so many people. — D.G., Lewiston

ANSWER: Sun Spots cannot picture this blockage. She always thinks of dryer vents as high up on a vertical wall. But no matter, you need to clear the snow, or get someone (a handyman or helpful neighbor) to help you. Not only will your dryer not work properly without venting, but the melting snow could leak water into the dryer as well. It would cost a lot more to fix your dryer than to hire someone to shovel snow.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to the Feb. 28 question about transferring home movies to DVD, Francis Gagnon and his wife, Beth, of Via Vision now own Photo Finish at the Auburn Mall, so people can get to them for film conversion through their storefront business. — Linda via email

ANSWER: Sun Spots called and verified that you can indeed make arrangements for recording transfers at Photo Finish, 550 Center St., Auburn, 783-3354. If you want to talk to Francis or Beth, call first to make sure they are at the store.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Bruce Mitchell in Wilton told me “That’s a loooooong time ago” that he used to transfer film to DVD. You may want to update your “Rolodex.” — No Name via email

ANSWER: Sun Spots appreciates the update. She incorrectly included Bruce’s name in the list of those who do film transfers. He is in her Rolodex as someone who transfers music into MP3s. She tried to contact Bruce to find out if he is still doing that, the service he offered in a September 2012 letter, but did not receive a response.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: A week or so ago a woman wrote in asking for puppets. I knew I had one but just found it today. If you will send me her email address or phone number, I will contact her. Thanks. — Judy Kuhn, judkuhn@yahoo.com

ANSWER: You can reach T. Robert, man or woman, at 207-782-4673.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read your March 4 column on EdenPure heater repairs. I own two of those heaters and find them very efficient and reliable. As a former TV and appliance repairman, I am capable of service and repair of the EdenPure line of heaters. — Larry Wallace, 11 Faith St., Lisbon Falls, 207-353-2368, larrywallace@myfairpoint.net
