AUGUSTA — Five Maine Center for Disease Control officials are to appear before the Legislature’s Government Oversight Committee at 9 a.m. Friday in a document-shredding probe.
The questioning will appear live on SunJournal.com. The Sun Journal also will offer live Twitter updates via @SunJournal.
There will be complete coverage in Saturday’s newspaper.
The five officials subpoenaed to appear before the committee are CDC Director Sheila Pinette, Deputy Director Christine Zukas, Office of Minority Health and Health Equity Director Lisa Sockabasin, Division Director Deborah Wigand and Senior Program Manager Andrew Finch. In February, all declined the committee’s invitation to appear. That led to the subpoenas.
Sharon Leahy-Lind, the former CDC official who raised the allegations of document-shredding, also has been subpoenaed to appear Friday.
Tune in at 9 a.m. to watch the hearing here.
