FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Home & Leisure Show begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 15, in the Mt. Blue Campus gym.

“It’s hard to believe it’s the 20th year,” chamber President Michael Blanchet said Friday afternoon as businesses and organizations began assembling their booths. “We’d like to thank all the people who have set up with us over the years.”

Forty businesses and organizations from Franklin County will be represented at the show, which runs till 2 p.m., Erin Arthers, executive director, said.

Chamber members were also setting up late Friday afternoon, securing the new gym floor, marking spots and setting up tables.

This year, there will be demonstrations at one end of the gym, Arthers said. Lt. David Rackliffe of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and his police dog will be there.

Other presentations include ones from the Healthy Community Coalition, Palmer Realty, Senior Planning with Tom Arruda and Expenet.

In honor of the 20th year, the chamber will raffle 20 Chamber Bucks worth $20, Arthers said. These can be spent at several businesses in the area. The 20 drawings will be held throughout the show.

A raffle ticket comes with the $1 admission fee, she said. Children under 12 are admitted free.

Many of the businesses are planning to give door prizes from their booths, she said.

Mt. Blue Music Boosters will sell refreshments.

Carol Chase and her husband, David Tracy, worked quickly to load a table for her business, Bass Hill Garden & Gifts of Wilton. Two fountains will be added along with fresh flowers and house plants. Garden items, books and gifts are there for sale during the show, she said.

Blanchet said last year’s show went well in the newly renovated school gym and the chamber hopes to expand on it this year.
