The Committee is in its home stretch and planning to submit its recommended update of the Comprehensive Plan to the Town Council by June. The Public Forum is another opportunity for residents to shape the recommendations.
This forum will address transportation and utilities, natural resources, recreation facilities, financing of town infrastructure, and the future land use plan for in-town Orono.
It also will present results of a survey of residents on three specific topics: property maintenance, student homes in neighborhoods, and the role of climate change in a local comprehensive plan.
The committee encourages all residents to take the survey before March 27. It is online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VCVV98V and also can be accessed through the Town website at www.orono.org/planning.
The latest draft of Comprehensive Plan policies and actions also can be reviewed on line at the Orono planning web page.
