Music with Friends: A Cary Memorial Library benefit at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 30
WAYNE — Cary Memorial Library will host a gala afternoon of classical music performed by mezzo soprano
and classical pianist Brian Meldrum at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at the historic Wing homestead, now owned by Laura Briggs and featured on the 2013 “Homes of Wayne Tour.”
Morris will sing selections by Bizet, Debussy and Gershwin. Meldrum will play pieces by Chopin, Scarlatti and Mozart. Delectable desserts will be served following the music.
Morris, of Winthrop, is a professionally trained singer, actor, conductor and voice teacher. She has performed at operatic and musical theater venues all over Europe and is now directing the CODA Chorus.
Meldrum earned his music degree from Boston University and works as counselor and school psychology specialist. He has previously played three concerts on the home’s baby grand Steinway piano.
Seating is limited and admission will be by advance reservation only. Tickets are $20, the price includes dessert, with all proceeds benefiting the Cary Memorial Library.
