1920 – 2014

AUBURN — Laura Perkins Haskell, 93, passed away Friday, March 14, at Androscoggin Hospice with her son at her side.

She was born in Auburn on Dec. 21, 1920, to Edwin and Gertrude Perkins, and graduated from Edward Little High School. She married Donald C. Haskell on Nov. 15, 1941, and they spent 63 years together until his death in 2008.

Her greatest loves were her children and grandchildren, and the times spent at the family cottage on Orrs Island. She was employed by the Auburn Water and Sewerage District for many years. After her retirement, Laura and Don became snowbirds and spent 20 winters in Leesburg, Fla. Always a sports fan, she enjoyed watching baseball and basketball games, attending her last game at the age of 92.

Laura leaves behind her son, Bruce and daughter-in-law, Dona; son, Richard and daughter-in-law, Sandy; and three grandchildren, Michael and wife, Judy, KerriAnne and husband, Joe Perron, and Maren Haskell and fiancé, Sebastian Monte.

She was predeceased by her sister, Edwina Upham; brothers, Ervin and Dwight Perkins; and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Haskell.
