LEWISTON — The Pine Tree Council Boy Scouts of America will participate in the annual scouting for food event.
The scouts in the Abnaki district will distribute door hangers with the information about the food drive on Saturday, March 22, and Sunday, March 23. They will return to the homes they left the door hangers on Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, to collect the food.
The Abnaki district consists of the Lisbon, Lewiston, Greene, Sabattus, Auburn, Norway, West Paris, Richmond, Bowdoinham, Portland and Bath areas.
The food collected will go to the Good Shepherd Food-Bank. The food bank has ask that there be no glass, frozen or perishable food donated. Suggested items are pasta, macaroni and cheese, canned fruit and vegetables, cereal, baby food, juice, coffee, applesauce, peanut butter, crackers and canned meat or fish.
