1933 – 2014

AUBURN — Joseph Richard “Dick” Ouellette, 80, of Auburn, passed away at the Odd Fellows’ Home of Maine on Tuesday, March 18, surrounded by his family.

Dick was born in Auburn on Aug. 11, 1933, the son of the late Romeo S. and Anne (Scanlon) Ouellette. He graduated from Edward Little High School with the Class of 1951. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force after four years of service. He graduated from Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in 1958, with a degree in industrial electricity.

In 1960, he married Beverly Connolly and they had three children. He was employed by Roy I. Snow, until he worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1994, after 35 years.

Dick enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling with his buddies, and also being at camp with friends and family, especially his grandkids. There wasn’t a thing he couldn’t fix.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly; his children, Rebecca Bosse and her husband, Michael, of North Carolina, Brenda Rivard and her husband, Daniel, of Mechanic Falls and Timothy Ouellette and his companion, Karen Dehetre, of Minot. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Alyssa and Megan Bosse and Justin and Jacob Rivard.

He was predeceased by his two sisters, Gloria Bergeron and Delores Becker; and his brother-in-law, Louie.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff members at The Lamp Alzheimer’s Residential Care Facility and the Odd Fellows’ Home for the wonderful care he received.
