RANGELEY — 2014 marks the 20th anniversary of Rangeley Health and Wellness. In April 1994 the Rangeley Region Health Center opened in what had been Dr. Anne Hunter’s office on Main Street, providing a long-term solution to the need for local primary health care.

To kick off the 20th year Rangeley Health and Wellness will hold a Community Visioning Event, modeled after similar events held in the mid-’90s and again in 2007.

Feedback was provided to many organizations in the community and each of them took on a little piece of the project, which has led to the positive changes seen in the area, such as expanded medical and library services, additional day care providers, a nurse at the school, increased businesses in the community and expanded land for recreational uses.

Rangeley Health and Wellness is inviting organizations and individuals to attend the event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, in the Rangeley Lakes Regional School gym.

The attendees need to think about what Rangeley currently has to offer, what is missing and what might enhance the community.

Rangeley Health and Wellness will provide a recap of the event to allow people who could not attend to learn about items touched upon that night. They will also provide a light beverage and snack.

Email rangeleyvisioning@gmail.com if interested in attending or to give comments or suggestions.
