SOUTH PARIS — Olga S. Starbird, 90, of South Paris, died at her home on Sunday, March 23.

She was born on the family farm in Greenwood on July 14, 1923, to Arvi and Lyyti Kyllonen. She attended Tubbs School and graduated co-valedictorian from West Paris High School. She married Stephen Starbird on Nov. 18, 1945. Olga was a homemaker and they made their home on Walker Street, before they built their home on Nichol Street.

She belonged to the Finnish American Heritage Society and the Paris Cape Historical Society. Olga went to Finland to visit the birthplace of her parents and to meet cousins. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens.

Olga is survived by her five children, Nancy and husband, Frank Wood, David and significant other, Elaine, Susan, Sylvia and husband, George Normand, and Patricia and husband, Torrance Norsworthy; seven grandchildren, Sean, Stephen, Jennifer, Paige, Amy, Daniel and Beth; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen; her parents; two brothers; and a special sister, Aino Starbird.
