LEWISTON — Kathie Allanah Sullivan Nuza, 70, passed away Tuesday, March 25, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, surrounded by her family.
She was born May 3, 1943, in New York City, the daughter of Finbarr and Mary (Mulryan) Sullivan. Raised in New York, Kathie was one of two brothers and three sisters. At an early age, Kathie became the caretaker of her siblings, a theme that would last throughout her life. After high school, Kathie moved to Florida and spent years living in Maryland, Louisiana and Maine since 2010.
Kathie had a deep love of animals, especially her love of her German shorthaired pointers.
Kathie is survived by her ex-husband, William Nuza of Lewiston; her daughter, Bonnie Nuza of Lewiston; son, Philip Nuza and his partner, Megan Stiles, of Sidney; sister, Beth of California; sister, Lynn and brother, Paddy, of New York. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Megan, Krystle, Max, PJ and Samantha; as well as her great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Kelsey.
Kathie was predeceased by her parents; sister, Dara; and brother, Fergus.
