1948 – 2014

BANGOR — Richie Masse, 65, of Sabattus, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, at Eastern Maine Medical Center. His cause of death was due to a brain injury in 2002.

He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 6, 1948, to Reginald Masse and Carmine Masse. Richie graduated from Lewiston High School and received a bachelor’s degree in forestry from Unity College. Out of college, he worked for the family business Pulp and Lumber, until his retirement in 2012.

Richie was a beloved member of the community. He was a joy to his family and all who knew him. He was the kindest man, who would take the shirt off of his back to help anyone. He enjoyed working in the woods, traveling with family, as well as his family reunions.

Richie is survived by his life long companion for more than 33 years, Rachel Cloutier, and her three children,  Ronnie Cloutier and spouse, Erika Cloutier, of Atlanta, Ga., Raymond Cloutier of Lewiston, and Ryan Cloutier and spouse, Mariam Cloutier, of Burlington, Vt.; sisters, Kathy Goodwin and spouse, John Goodwin, and son, Seth, of Lewiston; and Karen Lussier and spouse, Rick Lussier, of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Marissa, Veronika, Olivia, Oliver and Oden; and by many nieces and nephews.
