LEWISTON — Mildred I. Barrett, 87, died Sunday, March 30, at Central Maine Medical Center. She was a resident of Main Street in Hartford.

Born in Mexico on Aug. 11, 1926, she was a daughter of George and Della (Kennard) Powell. Mildred was a graduate of Mexico High School. She was an avid animal lover, especially her dogs, Toby and Max.

Mildred was married in Mexico on March 29, 1947, to Fred S. Barrett; he died in Hartford on Nov. 17, 2006.

Survivors include two sons, Bob and his wife, Linda, of Canton and Scott and his wife, Cathy, of Davenport, Fla.; two daughters, Vivian A. Crocker and her husband, Rodney, of Hartford and Debbie Warren of Morrill; six grandchildren; a brother, Richard Powell, of Turner; and a sister, Helen Rabb, of Turner.
