April is Child Abuse Awareness Month and child welfare agencies around the United States, including The Jesus Party Youth Outreach of Lewiston, rally to raise awareness about the issues of child sexual and physical abuse, maltreatment and neglect. Since 1997 The Jesus Party has participated in the annual “Blue Ribbon Campaign.” The Jesus Party will pass out blue ribbons to children attending the Friday, April 4, event. Special music and a time to pray for peace will be provided at the children’s chapel every Friday evening in honor of the Blue Ribbon Campaign. The Jesus Party, 291 Bates St., holds a weekly service for area children at 6 p.m. every Friday. For more information, call Rev. Doug Taylor 7876-5568.
