LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life of Armandine Blanchette Caron was celebrated by the Rev. Aaron Damboise on Monday morning, April 7, at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parish, following prayers at Pinette Dillingham and Lynch Funeral Home. Before arriving at church, the funeral cortege paused in front of Armandine’s former residence on Farwell Street in tribute to her.
At the beginning of Mass, Armandine’s sons, Bill and Roger Blanchette, draped their mother’s casket with a white burial pall that signifies Armandine’s Baptism into a new spiritual life with God. The New Testament reading was presented by Armandine’s granddaughter, Vickie St. Hilaire. The Prayer of the Faithful was recited by her granddaughters, Christine Deditch and Barbara Gilbert. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Armandine’s two great-great-grandchildren, Alison Deditch and Lindsey Gilbert.
Following a funeral procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, the Rev. Damboise recited committal prayers at the interment. Bearers were Alan and Alexander Deditch, Steven Blanchette and Chuck and Patrick St. Hilaire, as well as Tim Gilbert. At the conclusion of services, all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at Marco’s Restaurant in Lewiston.
