LEWISTON — The Y-Not? challenge, a two-week scavenger-hunt-style event meant to foster community service and civic engagement, is open for registration through April 17, according to leaders of YPLAA, which is hosting the event.
YPLAA, Young Professionals of the Lewiston-Auburn Area, created the event as a way to educate, motivate and recruit the next generation of community leaders.
Participants in the Y-Not? challenge work in teams over two weeks, taking on challenges that will connect them with and educate them about the community, including local government, businesses and nonprofit organizations.
Registration is available online at www.yplaa.com and is open until April 17.
A kickoff celebration will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. April 24 at Museum L/A.
The challenge will run from April 24 to May 8. During that time, teams will complete Y-Not challenges and submit them to their team mentors
On May 24, the Y-Not Finale Celebration will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Skye Event Center and feature prizes, food and entertainment.
