1924 – 2014

RUMFORD — Edna V. Kerr, 89, formerly of Bucknum Street in Mexico, died Monday, April 7, at Rumford Hospital.

She was born in Mexico on June 27, 1924, the daughter of Samuel and Louise (Johnston) Nichols, and graduated from Mexico High School, Class of 1941. She worked at Oxford Paper Co. from 1943 to 1949, and then as a stitcher at Norrwock Shoe in North Jay from 1969 to 1976.

Edna was a very active member of Mexico Congregational Church, having served on numerous committees. She was also a member of the Purity Rebecca Lodge No. 56.

She was married in Mexico on Aug. 22, 1948, to Lawrence R. Kerr, who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include four sons, Allen and his wife, Joan, of Nashua, N.H., Lee of Winslow, Jack and his wife, Jan, of Santa Fe, N.M., and Mark and his wife, Rebecca, of Dixfield; grandchildren, Darcey Kerr Davis and husband, Eric, of Weare, N.H., Ryan Kerr and his companion, April, of Brewer, Alison Kerr of Albany, N.Y., Lindsey Kerr of Soldotna, Alaska, Erika Kerr of Winslow and Mackenzie Kerr of Nashua, N.H.; and a great-granddaughter, Riley Davis, of Weare, N.H.

She was predeceased by four brothers and four sisters.
