FARMINGTON — RSU 9 directors voted Tuesday to approve a senior class trip June 5 and 6 to York Animal Kingdom, Boston and back to Titcomb Mountain in Farmington to spend the night.
Mt. Blue High School seniors graduate at 11 a.m. June 7 at the school.
Class representatives went over the itinerary for the field trip with board members.
When students arrive at the school their bags will be checked. They will on a bus and go to Titcomb to drop off sleeping gear. Then they are off to York Animal Kingdom at York Beach for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
From there they will travel to Boston to Faneuil Hall to shop and explore the sights. Each group will have at least two chaperons.
They will go on a dinner cruise from 6 to 10 p.m. around Boston Harbor. There will also be a dance. Students will share the boat with another high school class, adviser Patti Millette said.
Students will leave Boston at 10:45 p.m. to head back to Maine. They expect to arrive at Titcomb at about 2 a.m. on June 6. Students and chaperons will sleep in the lodge, Millette said.
A brunch will be held at 10 a.m. with the help of parent volunteers. Students will share senior memories and participate in field games and activities. The bus shuttle will take them back to the high school at 1 p.m. for dismissal.
Millette said she has received 75 permission slips from seniors planning to go on the trip, which is nearly half of the class.
