LEWISTON — Parents and grandparents are encouraged to grab the “young’uns” in their families and head down to the Lewiston Public Library on Friday, April 11, for a festive Spring Fever Barn Dance.
For an admission charge of $1 per person, attendees will be able to kick up their heels to lively “jigs-&-reels” music performed by the Great Falls Folk Orchestra, a community band featuring fiddlers ranging from middle-schoolers up through Baby Boomers.
Leading an assortment of fun and easy old-time square and contra dances will be folk dance instructor/caller Cindy Larock, who encourages people of all ages to attend, even those who would prefer to just sit out and tap their feet while they watch the fun on the dance floor.
The event, which begins at 6:30, will take place in Callahan Hall on the third floor of the library, 200 Lisbon St., at the corner of Pine Street in downtown Lewiston. More information is available by contacting the Maine Folque Co-op at www.MaineFolqueCo-op.com or 782-0386.
