AUBURN — Saint Dominic Academy will host the 29th annual Grande Auction on its Auburn Campus, on 121 Gracelawn Road, on Saturday, April 12. The event’s silent auction will begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and then the live auction at 7 p.m.
The money raised at the auction supports all aspects of the school including tuition assistance, academics, staff development, athletics, and the art and music programs.
“The Grande Auction is our school’s largest single fundraiser whereby the greater community of Lewiston/Auburn comes together to support the school and its mission,” said Donald Fournier, principal.
This year’s auction theme is “Gatsby” and the decor and auctioneers will play off the spirit of the Roaring Twenties. Dinner will be comprised of popular food from that time frame, homemade chandeliers will hang from the ceilings of the gym and foyer and tables will be decorated with the theme in mind. Among the items to be auctioned off are trips to Ireland, the Amalfi Coast and Florida with airline and Disney tickets included; a day of ‘lobstering’ in Cundy’s Harbor; and a Cinema Celebration Party Package.
People who are unable to attend the auction can still be part of two special raffles that will be drawn that evening. The Grande Cash Raffle includes five cash prizes totaling $5,000, and The Grande Gatsby Regal Raffle is a jewelry prize package that includes a beautiful pearls and gold beads necklace and bracelet jewelry set valued at $1,050.
