1919 – 2014

AUBURN — Rejane S. Lavoie, 95, formerly of Auburn, died Tuesday, April 8, at Clover Health Care, where she resided for the past nine years.

Born in Lewiston on Feb. 9, 1919, a daughter of the late Alfred and Marie Rose Champagne Roy, she was educated in local schools and later earned her GED. Rejane was a former member of St. Louis Church and was married to Leonard Lavoie, who died on Feb. 9, 1974.

She enjoyed making wedding and birthday cakes, cookies and doughnuts, and treasured Christmas. She will be remembered for her wonderful smile and her amazing meals — she was a great cook. She enjoyed being teased and loved her cat, Sukan.

She is survived by nine children, Richard Lavoie and wife, Priscilla, of Lewiston, Paul Lavoie and wife, Suzanne, of Johnson City, Tenn., Linda Bussiere and husband, Paul, of Greene, Elaine Rowell of North Carolina, Charles Lavoie and wife, Rhonda, of Bedford, Va., Claude Lavoie of Santa Monica, Calif., Lenny Lavoie and wife, Ruth-ann, of Poland, Cathy McLeary of Massachusetts and Anne Lavoie and husband, Jim Mynes, of Mount Dora, Fla.; daughters-in-law, Carol Ann Lavoie of Tampa, Fla., the wife of Maurice, and Rebecca Lavoie of Turner, the wife of Raymond; and 29 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her two sons, Maurice and Raymond.
