1921 – 2014

LEWISTON — Gerard J. LeBlanc, 92, of Allen Avenue in Lewiston, died Friday, April 11, shortly after his arrival at Central Maine Medical Center, with his son by his side.

Born in Rogersville, New Brunswick, on Sept. 28, 1921, he was a son of the late Jean and Anna Richard LeBlanc. He was married in September 1946 to the former Monique LaRochelle; she died Oct. 8, 1987.

Gerard was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He retired after 27 years of service from the Maine Central Railroad as a crane operator.

He is survived by his son, Maurice F. LeBlanc, of Lewiston; two brothers, Armand LeBlanc of California and Edgar LeBlanc and his wife, Lorraine, of Florida; and a brother-in-law, Lucien Poisson, of Auburn.

He was predeceased by five sisters, Marie, Alma, Aline, Nora and Therese; and five brothers, Yvon, Leo, Eric, John and Albert.

The family asks that all family and friends remember him in their prayers. The family wishes to thank Dr. Richard Kappelmann and his staff, especially Barbara and Jane, and Dr. Lynette Weeman for their loving care and support.
