FARMINGTON — A Livermore Falls man accused of inappropriate texting to a child under age 15 in Franklin County was indicted Tuesday by a Franklin County grand jury.

Casey L. Braley, 21, was indicted on a felony count of sexual exploitation of a minor. The incident occurred March 4, according to the grand jury’s report.

Franklin County sheriff’s Detective Stephen Charles arrested Braley in March.

The Sheriff’s Department began an investigation after it received a referral from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. That referral involved a child who disclosed there was inappropriate texting that included inappropriate photos, county Lt. David St. Laurent said previously.

Charles, assisted by his brother, Detective Kenneth Charles, conducted an investigation, collected the phones and conducted interviews.

A conviction for sex exploitation of a minor carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
