AUBURN — The Twomey family and the American Red Cross will hold the fourth annual blood drive in memory of C.J. Twomey from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 21, at the Lost Valley Ski Resort, 200 Lost Valley Road.
Twomey was a graduate of Edward Little High School and a former airman in the United States Air Force. He passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2010. His family misses his charming smile, engaging personality and zest for life.
After C.J.’s death, his parents made the decision to donate his organs with the hope of helping others. In a continued effort to make a difference in people’s lives and as a way to mark the anniversary of his passing, C.J’s family has chosen to hold a memorial blood drive again this year. It is their hope that community members will attend this event and give the gift of life in memory of C.J.
Blood is an essential component for patient care in area hospitals, and the only source of blood is a healthy, volunteer blood donor. All presenting donors will receive a coupon for a free six-inch sub courtesy of Subway and have the opportunity to enter to win a pair of Red Sox tickets and be honored at Fenway Park as Blood Donor of the Game.
Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance but walk-ins are always welcome. Contact Hallie Twomey at 207-240-4128 or [email protected] to make an appointment.
