The “mayflower man” is again busy! He brought his season’s first lot of trailing arbutus to Lewiston on Patriots’ Day, having found the first blossoms the day previous. This first basket of flowers contained ten bunches. The basket, Thursday, held twenty-one good-sized beautiful bunches and it did not take the “mayflower man” long to dispose of his wares. He says that this is an off season with the tiny pink and white flowers. They are not plentiful and are not as lovely as some seasons. While picking the flowers, Wednesday, he said his hands fairly ached with the cold.

About 100 attended, including selectmen and most of the members of the various town boards and department heads. Miller arrived in Lisbon on Friday afternoon after a two-day drive from Canton, Ohio. He and his family have moved into a home on Summer Street in Lisbon Falls and he will take over as town manager on Monday morning at a salary of $37,000 for the first year.
