LEWISTON — The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce’s biggest social gala, this year called Not Your Normal Chamber, is coming up in a week and features the theme “A Masquerade Party.”

The annual fete will take place from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 2, at the Ramada Conference Center, 490 Pleasant St.

This event is open to Chamber members and the public. Each ticket allows two people to enjoy the evening’s festivities and automatically enters the holder in a drawing for cash door prizes. Ticket price is $100. Dress is business attire, casual dress or costumes representing the theme. Costumes are highly encouraged, and prizes will be given out for the best costumes.

The event begins with a social hour, which includes a silent auction, a cash bar, tables full of hors d’oeuvres and musical entertainment. The live auction will begin at 8 p.m. Chamber member businesses have donated auction items worth more than $35,000. All items will be up for bid, including vacation trips and dinner parties.

The official program will conclude at 9:30 p.m., but participants are invited to stay and dance and enjoy the rest of the evening.

The Not Your Normal Chamber is the only fundraiser of the year that supports member programs, including free and low-cost training and networking functions, advocacy of business interests before the Legislature, and promotion of the local area.
