WILTON — On Sunday, April 27, Bishop Stephen T. Lane will come to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
According to Father Tim Walmer, St. Luke’s rector, “A bishop’s homecoming to an Episcopal congregation is always a cause for rejoicing; pastoral bonds are strengthened, the congregation shares its life and witness, and the bishop brings the perspective of the wider church.”
Lane will preach, preside at Communion, receive new members into this fellowship, meet with the vestry and share a brunch with the congregation. As well, Lane has just returned from a sabbatical during which he studied The Mission of the Church in a Changing Culture, a topic of vital interest to all Christians. He will be sharing some of what he learned.
The service is at 9:30 a.m., followed by a brunch at 10:30. The public is welcome. St. Luke’s is at 59 High St. at the corner of High and School streets.
