BOOK NOOK
SOUTH PARIS — Cynthia L. Thibodeau graduated from Central Maine Community College at the age of 55 with a degree in graphic communication. While attending school full time, enduring many challenges, she was a self-employed business manager and licensed cosmetologist. She is the owner and operator of Klips Salon in Oxford.
In 2008, Thibodeau self-published her first book “Menagerie in Sync,” a collection of poetic art filled with beautiful pictures and thoughtful writings.
Her latest novel “Match of Minds: Electronic Affair” is a story based on true life, modern-day “courting” through today’s electronic social mediums. It tells of a successful single woman’s challenges with connecting to a potential “match” through Email, where you only know what you read. This story keeps the reader hoping this budding relationship is real, but realizing that some things are too good to be true.
As an author, Thibodeau uses the name Willow Oakes to honor her maternal grandparents and mother. Thibodeau is working on a children’s book called “The Adventure’s of Miss Diva” that will be published this fall. She is also preparing a sequel to “Match of Minds: Electronic Affair” and hopes to have it published in 2015.
