JAY — Emily Keene scattered just two hits and Spruce Mountain played solid defense as the Pheonix defeated Lisbon 7-3 in MVC softball action Friday afternoon.

Hayley Doyen led off the bottom of the third for the Pheonix (3-1) with a single. Following a walk and an infield hit, Kailee Newcomb knocked in a pair with a single to right field as the Phoenix took a 4-0 lead.

Taylor Plourde hit a home run over the left field fence in the seventh inning for the Greyhounds (1-2).

Oak Hill 22,Carrabec 3

WALES — Sadie Goulet pitched a complete game and had four hits at the plate while driving in two in Oak Hill’s (1-4) 22-3 victory over Carrabec Friday in a softball contest.

Her catcher, Emma Hlester went 3-for-3 with three rbi.

Grace Sabine also went 3-for-3 including a double and also bringing in three of her teammates. Kayla Veilleux and Brooke Sourette which had two hits in the win.

Bailey Atwood had a triple for Carrabec (2-1).

Brewer 14, Lewiston 2

BREWER — Brewer cruised to a 14-2 victory over Lewiston in KVAC softball action Friday afternoon.

The Witches (3-1) got off to a three-run lead in the first and improved to 10-1 by the third inning. Cassie Green tripled in the first run of the game for Brewer.

Emily Turner plated Lauren Belleau for one of the Blue Devil’s (0-4) two runs in the five-inning contest.

Ally Chapman earned the mound win for Brewer, while Makayla Girouard suffered the loss.

Oceanside 6, Leavitt 3

THOMASTON — Amy Mazinek sealed the win with a two-run single in the sixth inning as Oceanside breezed to a 6-3 victory over Leavitt in KVAC softball action Friday afternoon.

The only extra base hit in the game came off the bat of Bri Dugan for the Mariners (3-1) in the form of a triple.

Annie Castonguay and Kaitlyn DeBlois had two hits apiece for the Hornets (2-2). The DeBlois hit led to one of Leavitt’s run.

Oxford Hills 10, Mt. Ararat 0

SOUTH PARIS — A strong seven-run third inning proved to be too much to handle, as Oxford Hills ran past Mt. Ararat 10-0 in girls’ softball action.

Crystal West and Erika Whitman combined to pitch a gem for the Vikings (3-1), allowing just two hits on the day.

West, Myriah Lausier, Annika Kahkonen and Kayleigh Knox scattered a pair of hits each to pace the Vikes.

Alana Weaver took the loss pitching for Mt. Ararat (0-4).
