1950 – 2014

AUBURN — Rona L. Boilard, 63, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, at the Hospice House in Auburn, following a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston on July 10, 1950, the daughter of the late Roy and Evelyn (Boydak) Shoemaker. She grew up in the local area and was a student at Edward Little High School class of 1968. After high school, she attended Farmington State Teachers College, now known as University of Maine at Farmington, graduating in 1972 with her bachelor’s degree in education.

On June 10 of that same year, she married Robert Boilard, and they enjoyed many years together. Rona was a special education teacher at Lewiston Middle School for 35 years. She enjoyed all types of arts and crafts as well as gardening and doing projects on her computer and embracing social media.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Robert Boilard of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her brother, Jon Shoemaker.
