Haverinen
PORTLAND — The wedding of Michelle Longstaff and Samuel Haverinen was held at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Seasons Event and Conference Center in Portland. The Rev. Jesse Wall, cousin of the bridegroom, officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Haverinen is the daughter of David and Mary Longstaff of Norway. Mr. Haverinen is the son of Daniel and Julia Haverinen of South Paris.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless silk and taffeta mermaid gown with beaded belt and carried a bouquet of two-tone red roses.
Sarah Flagg was matron of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Elissa Madore and Stephanie Hespe, cousins of the bride, and Nicole Edmunds and Jessie Mayol, friends of the bride.
Best men for the bridegroom were Matthew Daniel and Mark Daniel, brothers of the bridegroom, and Joshua Gates and Joshua Morton, friends of the bridegroom. Darren Flagg, nephew of the bride, and Luc Daniel and Ian Daniel, nephews of the bridegroom, were ring bearers.
A reception followed at Seasons Event and Conference Center in Portland, after which the couple traveled to Jamaica. They are residing in Saco with their dog, Milo and cat, Maya.
The bride received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Maine. She is a medical social worker and home health visiting nurse.
The bridegroom received a bachelor’s degree from Goddard College. He is a ski instructor at Sunday River Ski Resort and a bartender.
