FARMINGTON — RSU 9 school directors are expected to review an additional $180,000 or so in reductions from a tentative $31.1 million budget on Tuesday, May 6.
They also are expected to set a budget when they meet at 6 p.m. in the Forum at Mt. Blue Campus, where the high school is located.
The additional reductions would be on top of the $311,602 in administration-recommended cuts or alternate funding sources that brought the tentative spending plan of $31.4 million down to $31.1 million.
With the $311,602 in changes, the tentative spending plan was $1.37 million, or 4.6 percent more than the current $29.7 million budget.
Directors started reviewing each section of the budget in early April. On Thursday, they again reviewed each line of the needs and priorities.
They asked administrators to bring back recommended changes that would amount to about $180,000 less in the proposed budget, Superintendent Tom Ward said Friday.
