AARP chapter to meet May 12

PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet Monday, May 12, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street.

A hot chicken salad lunch will be served at noon. Cost is $6.50.

Reservations are required by Friday, May 9.

The business meeting will begin at 12:45 p.m. with the installation of officers.

Entertainment will be by the barbershop singers, “4 On A Match.”

Support of the Food Pantry and the book and puzzle swap are continuing.

American Legion plans youth dances

OXFORD — Youth dances will be held every Friday except May 23, at American Legion Post No. 112, 169 King St.

Doors open at 5 p.m, with the dance running from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., hosted by TJ the DJ.

Admission is $6. Drinks and food are available.

Jones Dance Band at American Legion

PARIS — The Jones Dance Band will play from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturdays, May 10 through May 31, at the American Legion Hall, 12 Church St.

Cost is $5.

Plant sale benefits teen center

PARIS — A perennial plant sale will take place from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, across the street from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

Proceeds will benefit the Rock House Teen Center in Oxford.

Take-a-chance auction is May 10

FRYEBURG — The 22nd annual take-a-chance auction will take place Saturday, May 10, at the Natural Resource Building at the Fairgrounds.

Items can be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Drawings begin at 7.

There will also be food booths and a $1 table.

A 50/50 raffle will benefit Denise Stacey of Denmark.

The auction is hosted by Saco Valley 4-H Beef, Dairy and Sheep Club.

Heywood Club meeting, cleanup

NORWAY — The Heywood Club will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, May 12, at the Clubhouse.

Members plan to do cleanup, both inside and out. They also will discuss the yard sale (tentative date is the Saturday, June 14) as well as the porch repair estimates, club officers and more.

New toddler program at SACC/preschool

OXFORD — Beginning on Sept. 1, Oxford SACC & Preschool will open a new toddler program at its facility at 89 Pleasant St. The program will now serve children 18 months to 12 years.

SACC is a nonprofit community corporation with Federal Tax Exempt status registered in the State of Maine. The facility is licensed to serve 73 children. Oxford SACC is open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

American Legion supper dance

LOCKE MILLS — A supper dance will be held from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at the American Legion Hall.

Music will be by the Jones Band. Doors open at 4 p.m.

Menu will be baked beans, hot dogs, casseroles, salads, rolls and pies.

Supper and dance, $10; supper only, $7; child, $3.
